"Dearest Me Once more" is a hitting song by English language singer John Newman. The vocal was released every bit a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the Uk where information technology was released on 30 June 2013 as the lead single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written by Newman and Steve Booker and produced past Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was afterwards featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA xiv.

Background [edit]

In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the song had something special about it in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote information technology with (Steve Booker), nosotros turned around and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'There'southward something adept here'. Just you just never know how good it is, y'all know?".

Newman was also asked if information technology was hard to write the lyrics about love and suspension-upwardly, he said, "No, it'south the only place where I really open up to somebody, through my music. I'm producing [the album] and writing information technology, information technology's good. I similar to keep a concord of everything".[2]

With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the vocal is written in the key of One thousand Dorian. The cardinal signature is in D pocket-sized. Both are modes of F major, of which either one can be used equally the tonic note/chord, because, however, the F major chord is not present in the song.[3]

Music video [edit]

Two music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, have been released for "Beloved Me Over again". One version[4] directed past Vaughan Arnell is based on the classic dear story of Romeo and Juliet.[5] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French extra Margaux Billard, advisedly watched over by her blood brother, Tybalt, played by Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a cliffhanger as they get run over by a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman's follow-up single "Cheating", which starts with a newspaper commodity indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a hit-and-run accident.

Some other version features Newman, backed by musicians, singing in a dimly lit room.[6]

In popular culture [edit]

"Honey Me Over again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA 14,[viii] giving information technology a cult condition among FIFA fans, equally well as the Federation'due south #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA'southward archive during the COVID-nineteen pandemic. It also appeared in the endmost credits of the 2014 science fiction film, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Prowl and Emily Blunt. The song was also featured on the American TV serial, Suits in the episode, "Buried Secrets", which aired on vi March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the kickoff episode of season 4, "I-Two-Three Go", which aired 11 June 2014. "Honey Me Again" is also a playable vocal in Just Dance 2015. The song was also used equally the theme to the tv prove Whiskey Cavalier which debuted in February 2019 and concluded in May afterwards one season.[9] In August 2020 and May 2021 information technology was used in TV and radio adverts for National Rail.

The French channel TF6 also used this song to shutdown its aqueduct.
